Thought I’d give you a snapshot of my life right now. I’m writing as my little girl, now almost eight months old, is playing on the floor with her baby kitchen set. My husband and I are enjoying our life in ministry together, raising our baby Journey Taylor, and looking forward to all that 2013 will bring. I am working on my book today, and I’m wondering how I can get it done in the next few months without losing track of everything else in my life. It’s easier said than done, this multitasking thing.
I appreciate the fact that God gives us fresh starts. With each sunset and sunrise we have a fresh beginning to a day. With each year end, we have a fresh year. I am setting goals and adding deadlines to those goals so I can pace myself through them. I encourage you to do the same. It’s one thing to have a to do list or a goal list, but it’s another to break those goals down into daily or weekly challenges. We are creatures of habit, so to break out of old habits takes diligence and lots of reminders each day. When it comes to writing or anything else in my life, it takes discipline…something our culture doesn’t smile upon. Yet, what is life without some self discipline? We need accountability to ourselves, to others and of course most importantly, to God.
So here’s to a year full of possibilities. Dreams. Goals. Discipline to see those goals through. And plenty of fresh starts along the way.
